The Wild Mountain Snowsports School is one of the area’s premier alpine race, snowboard and freestyle skiing education and competition centers. Our specialized programs afford athletes of all ages the opportunity to further enhance their skills and abilities through our development and competition programs, camps and events. In addition to Wild Mountain programs, specialized training and events in these areas are also offered by some of the regions most prestigious private organizations. KIDS PROGRAMS Our D-Team programs offer skiers and riders 6-17 the opportunity to develop sound skills that will not only enhance the technical aspects of racing and park riding, but also their all mountain skiing and riding enjoyment. Our dedicated coaches have a diverse background in snowsports; from competing in their sport, to instructing in snowsports, to coaching high school athletics. One common trait in each of the coaches selected to work with the kids in the D-Team program is their dedication and commitment to help their charges learn and have fun! The Wild Mountain D-Team Program provides an environment enabling each of the participants to develop their athletic and personal skills as they have fun and form lasting friendships. Additional training and coaching at Wild Mountain is available thru programs offered by Apex Alpine Racing and the G-Team. Apex offers training four days per week at Wild Mountain for skiers 10 years old and up. Training is offered in Slalom and GS, and prepares many young athletes for USSA and high school racing events. In addition, Apex offers two Holiday Camps – one is offered Thanksgiving weekend, the other over the holiday break. The G-Team is the Midwest’s premier snowboarding team. G-team provides an opportunity for motivated snowboarders to train under the direction of experienced professional coaches, along with the opportunity to compete in local, regional, national and world competitions. At the 2011 USASA National Championships G-team riders earned 31 medals (highest by any team!). New for the 2011-12 season the G-Team will offer the same training opprtunities for Freestyle/Twin Tip skiers! ADULT PROGRAMS At Wild Mountain programs and camps are also available for adults. All ability levels are able to participate and enjoy the camaraderie of other adults who share their passion for the sport. Think of the Friday Gate Training as a D-Team for adults - with expert coaching, plenty of timed runs and video feedback. It’s offered for eight weeks, choose the weeks that fit your schedule, or follow your dream and take all eight weeks! Wild Mountain is also home to five Ski Challenge weekly race leagues, and is one of the stops in the Midwest Masters Race League.
