1. When are you going to open?
We plan on opening as soon as we can. We put the snow guns on the hill in late Septembe & we have a crew on stand-by 24/7. The earliest we have opened is Oct. 18th in 1992. Last season, we opened Oct. 29th. The latest opening in the last 25 years is Nov. 20th in 2001. Please join our enews list or "like" us on Facebook for up to the minute information on when we will be open.
In order to make snow we need the temperatures to be below freezing for multiple hours and we need the sky to be clear with low humidity.
Snow from God is beautiful, but it does not make for good snow making weather; so please pray for crisp, clear, cool evenings until we are open. Then we can change our prayers and ask for Snow!
2. Once you open, how soon can we set gates?
This all depends on the weather and how much snow we are able to make. Our goal is to be 100% open by Thanksgiving weekend each year. We also offer a Thanksgiving race camp through Apex Alpine every season and they are almost always in gates at that time.
3. Do you wax or adjust ski equipment?
Sorry, we do not sell equipment and we are not set up like a ski shop; therefore we cannot make adjustments, wax or tune your equipment. There are local shops that we can guide you to. Please email
